"This was a pretty clear confirmation that these moths are visiting the flowers," says Borkowsky. Armed with that knowledge, she and her team moved on to a second question: why do Western Prairie Fringed Orchids in Manitoba produce fewer seed capsules than those in Minnesota, North Dakota and more southern parts of its range.
